The play based curriculum allows children to actively engage their minds and bodies. Within play's natural learning environment children develop cognitively, socially, emotionally and physically. Wee Discover keeps a variety of age appropriate toys, games, books and other manipulatives in each classroom. For outside play, Wee Discover has a large fenced "backyard" that is 10 times larger than the state licensing agency requires. There is also playground equipment deemed safe by the state guidelines. Weather permitting, the children are outside for a period each morning and afternoon. Below is an example of a lesson plan for in the classroom.
